Ka-Ching! (Recovered Post)

19th February 2007

I’ve done it! I just spoke with the client and received my first ever article payment! A nice crispy $115.02, which will go a long way towards covering my outstanding and long overdue bills - as well as maybe leave me with something to save up for a WSO offer, which I’m hoping to be able to do one day.

Anyway, for those who don’t believe me, here’s a screenshot of the account transaction - name of the client and other details have been removed for confidentiality reasons.

It Is Done! (Post Recovered)

17th February 2007

Well, I’ve just finished proof-reading my first ever set of articles, and they will be handed over to the client as soon as I see them online. Frankly, I’m very excited about this, as this will effectively be my first experience of earning something online, not to mention the thrill of actually completing my first ever assignment!

On a more serious note, once I receive feedback from the client, I will conduct a sort of post-mortem of my first article project to include the client’s criticisms - I’m sure there must be some - as well as some of the things I’ve learnt on my own over the last couple of days. If you’ve never written an article before but would like to do so, I strongly suggest you read it, as it may provide you with some useful information and maybe even save you from some of the blunders that we all make on our first article order.

Got a Writing Job (Recovered Post)

13th February 2007

Well, I’m happy to say that I’ve landed my first article writing assignment. I’m not going to go into the specifics of it at the moment, as I don’t believe in discussing things before they actually happen, but let’s just say that I’m now busily scribbling away at a set of articles.

Will I blow it? We’ll know soon enough!

How to Turn $61.46 in Bank into $1,000 a Month (Recovered Post)

12th February 2007

The goal of this blog is to document my effort to turn the $61.46 I currently have sitting in my bank account into a solid $1,000 by using affiliate marketing and/or other means of income purely off the Internet.

I thought it should be fitting to kick off this new blog with a quick introduction of my financial situation, how I got here, why I so desperately need to get out of it and, most importantly, just what the heck I’m planning to do about it.

As I’m writing this, I have a whooping $61.46 in my bank account (I’m trying very hard not to think about the cell phone and credit card bills that are soon to become overdue). My university costs $2,000 a month - and if I fail to come up with at least half that money, I will most likely be repatriated to my home county, which is a third world dictatorship ran by a lunatic president. Dear readers, please make a mental note - if you ever find yourself looking for a holiday destination, do not include my country of origin - Belarus - as an option.

My only source of funds is coming from my Mum, who is no longer able to afford my tuition fee in its entirety. As a non-EU national, finding a job in Switzerland for me is nigh on impossible. All in all, you could say that I’m pretty much staffed - and, frankly, I’d be inclined to agree with you.

Now, what on earth am I gonna do about it? Let’s just say that I’ve done my fair share of running in circles, screaming and shouting - and while it was a tremendous emotional relief, it sure didn’t make my wallet any fatter. However, as someone who can’t get a job in the offline world due to work permit restrictions, I clearly have only one option - the Internet. And, of course, when I’m talking about the Internet, I’m really referring to affiliate marketing. In fact, this term is so important, it probably deserves to be put in the centre of the page in big bold capital letters:

AFFILIATE MARKETING!

Over the coming weeks, I will be sharing with you what little tips, techniques and hints I will be collecting and applying in my attempt to turn my pitiful bank account into something that can help pay my university fee and maybe buy a jewelry trinket or two for my lovely girlfriend. This isn’t a challenge in the traditional sense of the word, as I’m not setting a fixed deadline for achieving the desired result, and, more importantly, I haven’t got the skills and the experience to develop and then complete a credible challenge. However, what knowledge I acquire from my research, I will glady share with you (unless it’s a secret that I reckon can earn me millions).

So, stick around and I hope to see you back!
